The
style has been described as a ‘hybrid of relaxed John Richmond meets
grown up Maharishi’. This isn’t far from the mark with relaxed trousers
made in high quality fabrics that can be worn daytime through to
evening. T-shirts are more distinctly day or eveningwear with key
daytime styles including the Huge.n logo, 14 (Eugene’s shirt number)
and Who’s The Daddy (a play on the Dadi name). The eveningwear t-shirts
have a distinct club influence with see through logos, backs or detail.
Shirts are both long sleeved, fitted, with cuff detail; cross-over to
reveal toned chest; or sleeveless with raw edge shoulder and back logo
detail. Jersey pieces are all fluid shapes - polo shirts and hooded
tops have unexpected detail to give each garment a sense of
individuality.
Eugene is well known for his football skills, playing professional
football since the age of seventeen. In 2004 he decided to put his
creativity outside of football into fashion, with the love of his life
Joana, who has some design experience through creating her own garments
for performing on stage whilst in the band Take Five.
Huge.n’s womenswear label was launched just over twelve months ago, and has had positive reviews from customers and press.
“Our womenswear collection was a great success and will make a
re-appearance in Autumn/Winter 2005. We wanted to create a menswear
label to sit alongside Huge.n womenswear to offer guys something new -
the opportunity to look understatedly sexy” said Eugene Dadi.
Huge.n womenswear’s clientele ranges from Jennifer Ellison to Sammy
Winward. The menswear label has become a favourite among Eugene’s team
mates and management staff and is set to be the style statement
collection for 2005.
